Col Vijay Kumar is a distinguished officer with a commendable 30 years of service in the Indian Army.Having served the nation with honor and dedication,he brings decades of leadership experience, operational expertise, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Apart from military achievements he has competed at various levels in sports particularly cricket, football,golf and horse riding representing his school,college,state ,military academy and army teams at national championships. His background in competitive sports has not only shaped his personal discipline but also instilled in him a deep belief in teamwork, resilience, and performance a quality he continues to champion in every field.

Col Vijay Kumar has directed a golf documentary film doing rounds of various film festivals,conducted a memorable event at Tata Theatre Nariman Point Mumbai during 75 Years of Indian Independence Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav in 2022 and recently Veterans Day 2025 Parade conducted at Marine Drive promenade, all executed with the trademark precision and adaptability owed to his military service.

Today, Col Vijay Kumar leverages his experience in defence, sports, and leadership to contribute to social causes and lead initiatives that promote fitness, community development, and nation building.

Cdr Farokh Tarapore ,VSM is three time Olympian and only sportsman who has represented India at eight consecutive Asian Games since 1982 in the sport of Sailing. He has won, one Gold, two silver and two bronze medals for India in three different classes of boats a feat achieved by none in Asia.

He has a distinction of total winning two gold medals and three bronze medals for the country at the World Championship. With 18 International medals for the country in six different classes ,to put it in perspective in athletics, it is like winning 100 m, 400m, pole vault, high jump, 5000m and 10000m over a 40 year period.

He is the recipient of the Arjuna Award, Chhatrapati Shivaji Award, Maharashtra Puruskar and many other awards for his many achievements.

Post retirement ,As Jt Secretary,Navy Foundation Mumbai Chapter he has been instrumental in organising meaningful events for health nutrition , fitness and well being amongst Mumbaikars.

Cdr Vijay Vadhera, NM (Gallantry)

President of Navy Foundation Mumbai Chapter is an esteemed alumni of the National Defence Academy. He served in the Indian Navy as a Submariner for 25 years till his retirement in April 1996, and later with the Mumbai Port Trust for 15 years as a Senior Master Pilot.

In 1988 - 89, Cdr Vadhera commanded Indian Navy’s Yacht Samudra in an around sailing across the 7 Oceans to bring laurels to our country as its first Skipper. For this act of gallantry, he was awarded the Nao Sena Medal (Gallantry)

Post retirement he has committed himself to serve the Veterans and Veer Naris of Mumbai since 2008 in the dusk & evening of their lives through many social, health care, and life style crisis.To his credit goes the rise in the Happiness Quotient of the old warriors and their good ladies.

A sports enthusiast he along with the Navy Foundation Mumbai Chapter is supporting the effort idea of a Heritage Run which aims at community building.

Capt Sumit Bhatnagar is a decorated naval officer with 33 years of distinguished service in the Indian Navy. He brings in deep expertise in administration, sports management, and operational leadership. As a skilled administrator and executive officer, he has commanded both Warship and Air Sqn and headed the Sports Division of the Western Naval Command, Mumbai.

He is an avid fitness enthusiast , avid cricketer and a golfer. Having organised several sports event as Sports Officer , Western Naval Command. ,representeded Navy in cricket nationals and modernised the sports facility in the Navy to the standards of FIFA(Footbal),FIH (Hockey) and cricket stadium,he has a disciplined yet empathetic approach - combining strategic clarity with hands-on team engagement.
